On June 12, President Michelle Bachelet and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will sign the agreement “Chile–California: A Partnership for the 21st Century” establishing formal cooperation on innovation, higher education and alternative energy. A new model for partnership in the Americas, the California–Chile agreement expands upon current economic ties and promotes active collaboration and shared lessons in these mutually critical areas. In President Bachelet’s public address, she will discuss the current challenges Chile faces and what this new agreement means for her country.
President Michelle Bachelet is the first female president of Chile and a member of the political coalition, Concertación (Full biography).
Tickets will be available at the Chevron Auditorium on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 3:30 pm on June 12. NO backpacks, large bags, food, banners, signs or sound-making devices.
